Around the world, waste generation rates are rising. In 2016, the worlds’ cities generated 2.01 billion tonnes of solid waste, amounting to a footprint of 0.74 kilograms per person per day. With rapid population growth and urbanization, annual waste generation is expected to increase by 70% from 2016 levels to 3.40 billion tonnes in 2050.
We hope that everyone can play a part by trading items instead of buying new products by promote an environmentally-friendly way of reusing items through trading on this platform. As the saying goes "one user's trash is another user's gold", we aim to create a sustainable environment by reducing waste accumulated from products that consumers intend to throwing away.
To raise the overall recycling rate in Singapore to 70 per cent and to reduce consumption, minimising wastage and maximising recycling.
To conserve our resources, reduce pollution, create jobs in waste management, reduce waste costs, increase the lifespan of our Semakau Landfill and incineration plants, and mitigate climate change.
To reduce by eliminating or minimising the waste in the beginning and to reuse by using the waste several times in its original form or for another purpose and reason.
